English Proficiency Requirements for Washburn undergraduate degree programs
If you are applying to a graduate program, please check the webpages for that program.
Undergraduate students whose native language is not English can meet Washburn's English Proficiency Requirement in one of the ways below OR start with Intensive English Program classes. Most of those English class credits count as credits toward a degree program.
Ways to Satisfy WU English Proficiency Requirement
Note: If some subtest scores are lower, one or more Intensive English courses may be required.

Sending Test Results to WU
- Test dates must be within the last two years.
- Duolingo English Tests results must be sent by selecting WU from your account on the DET website.
- TOEFL scores can be sent directly from your ETS account to WU using 6928 code. Or you can email your student copy of your test results to international@washburn.edu.
- IELTS score results can also be sent by logging into your IELTS account and sending results to WU. Or you can email your student copy of your test results to international@washburn.edu.
- SAT results must be sent directly from the College Board.
- PTE scores must be sent to WU directly from Pearson online.
