Why earn a Bachelor of Arts in Art at Washburn?
The Art program at Washburn University has the same facilities and equipment as stand-alone art schools, while also offering you a rich college experience at Washburn. As soon as you declare an art major, you’ll be paired with a faculty advisor-mentor who can support your interests and academic success. This program allows you to combine art with another interest as a double major. Hands-on practice, a robust internship program and travel opportunities within the United States and abroad ensure you'll have a wide range of experiences. Is the Bachelor of Arts in Art right for me?
The Bachelor of Arts in art is the right option if you want to easily combine your coursework with a major in another field (such as Mass Media, Psychology or Biology). You’ll earn a versatile degree that offers a foundation in art history, design and drawing, and you can tailor your upper-level art courses to your interest.
If you want to focus specifically on studio practice or plan to pursue a Master of Fine Arts, consider the BFA in Studio Arts. If you want to be an Art Educator, the BFA in Art Education with teacher licensure is right for you. If you want to research art or work as a curator, the BA in Art History may be your best choice.
