Mass Media Internships
Internships provide a personalized work experience in the student’s area of mass media specialization. The internship gives the student the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge of strategic and practical skills in a real-world environment, including learning about and adapting to the professional work place.
The internship coordinator maintains a network of contacts with professionals in radio, TV and cable companies, film production companies, newspapers, advertising and public relations agencies, and business and professional organizations. Our students have a wide variety of choices when it comes to where to intern. see the Google Document list of available internships (opens in new window).
Student must meet the following requirements before they can enroll in the Internships class:
- Complete 80 hours of college credit.
- Complete 30 hours in mass media, 9 of which must be in your emphasis.
- At the beginning of the semester before you want to start your internship, meet with your adviser and discuss your eligibility for the internship course for the next semester
