Mass Media Department Mission Statement
Consistent with the mission of the University and the College of Arts and Sciences, the Mass Media Department strives to continuously improve teaching and learning by promoting scholarly and creative activities that benefit the field and the classroom. The Department works with community and national organizations to create and develop cooperative projects and internships, and provides students with opportunities to collaborate with faculty and community groups on projects that support success in the media field. Upon graduation, students are prepared to create contemporary media for a mobile and global society. In cooperation with faculty and students, the Mass Media Department aims to promote media literacy, freedom of expression, and socially responsible communication.
