Religious accommodations
Washburn's policies concerning religious accommodation for employees and students may be found in Section 15 of the WUPRPM.
15.2 Religious Accommodation for Employees
15.3 Religious Accommodation for Students
Pregnancy & Parenting Accommodations
Prohibited Discrimination, Harassment and Sexual Violence policies include pregnancy and parenting for employees and students.
A woman (applicant, employee, faculty member, or student) should not be treated less favorably because of pregnancy, childbirth, or a medical condition related to pregnancy or childbirth.
If a woman is temporarily unable to perform her job due to a medical condition related to pregnancy or childbirth, Washburn University must treat her in the same way it treats any other temporarily disabled employee.
To support all campus community members, Washburn maintains a campus map showing accessible building entrances and designated handicap parking spaces.
We've surveyed both the Washburn campus and Washburn Tech to identify those restrooms that are gender neutral -- normally restrooms which are designed for use by a single individual.
At present, some of these restrooms are identified as "Family Restrooms." That means, that if you have a family member such as a child or individual who needs assistance, these are available to you. They also are considered gender neutral.

Report an access barrier
If you identify an accessibility concern—such as a blocked entrance, malfunctioning elevator, or inaccessible digital content—please submit the access barrier report form.
Submitting a report helps the University address issues quickly and improve access across campus.
Appeals process
If an accommodation request is denied or if an individual disagrees with the accommodation offered, they may submit an appeal. Appeals should be made in writing to the Equal Opportunity/ADA Coordinator within a reasonable timeframe.
The Coordinator will review the request and issue a response to ensure compliance with ADA and University policy. Additional steps may be available depending on the nature of the request.
