About student grants
Have ideas about how to improve campus? Apply for a WSGA student grant! There are two types of grants: the student development grant, which is for students wanting to attend a conference; and the student initiative grant, which is for funding other ideas. Both are for individual students, or groups of students not part of the same student organization. Student development grants
Need some extra funds to accomplish an academic goal? This grant is for you! WSGA is in full support of helping students develop by going to conferences. Each student is eligible for a $1000 grant to help towards expenses.
Steps for applying for a student development grant
- Obtain a letter of recommendation from a faculty member
- Read the funding policy
- No more than $4,000 for one event
- $1,000 per student attending
- A detailed itinerary of the event
- If requesting food money in advance the request must be made 4 weeks in advance.
- All Receipts must be kept and returned
- Fill out the student development grant request form
- Submit the request with all these materials to wsga.budget@washburn.edu
Campus projects grants
Students who have an idea to improve campus can obtain funds here! You will work closely with WSGA in contacting the correct departments to see your vision through. Each student is eligible for a $4,000 grant to help improve Washburn and serve students.
Steps for applying for a student development grant
- Obtain a letter of recommendation from a faculty member
- Read the funding policy
- $4,000 limit per project
- One grant per student per academic year
- All funds must be used for projects on campus
- Fill out the campus project grant request form
- Send information to wsga.budget@washburn.edu
