About student grants

Have ideas about how to improve campus? Apply for a WSGA student grant! There are two types of grants: the student development grant, which is for students wanting to attend a conference; and the student initiative grant, which is for funding other ideas. Both are for individual students, or groups of students not part of the same student organization. See our student organization funding page for more information about funding for official student orgs.

Steps for Grant Funding

  1. Fill out the Student Grant Request form with all the details of your project/travel.
  2. Forms are due at least 15 days prior to the start date of your project/travel request. When filling out the form please make certain that you have not requested another student grant within the current academic year.
  3. Attend the allocations committee and senate meetings. A student representative attending/participating in the grant should attend an allocations committee and a senate meeting. You will be notified by email to the representative listed on the Friday before the requested attendance date. Representatives should come in business casual, and be prepared to give a verbal presentation of the project/travel and answer questions about their grant request.
  4. If your request passes, the Budget Director will email with further information about the reimbursement process.
